Introducing Capawesome Platform: The Mobile App Platform for Modern Teams¶
Today we're launching Capawesome Platform — Capawesome Cloud and Insider SDKs unified under one brand, one website, one onboarding flow, and one pricing system. It's the biggest change we've ever made, and almost every detail of it came directly from your feedback. Welcome to the new capawesome.io.
Why We're Doing This¶
For the last two years we've shipped two products in parallel: Capawesome Cloud for native builds, live updates, and app store publishing, and Insider SDKs for our enterprise-grade Capacitor plugins. They lived on separate landing pages, had separate pricing pages, and even had separate onboarding flows.
That worked well enough when each product stood on its own. It stopped working as the lines blurred. A few patterns kept showing up in our support inbox:
- Most teams wanted both Cloud and Insider SDKs — but had to sign up twice and pay on two invoices.
- Many developers only cared about Live Updates and didn't want to pay for Native Builds or SDKs they wouldn't use.
- Some teams used the non-commercial Insiders Individual plan for commercial projects, which violated our terms and put everyone in an awkward spot.
- There was no trial for Insider SDKs, so teams had to commit before they could evaluate the libraries.
- Two landing pages (
capawesome.ioandcloud.capawesome.io) made it genuinely hard to figure out which product solved which problem. - After we moved Live Updates from MAU-based pricing to counting delivered updates last year, you told us — repeatedly — that the old model was simpler and more predictable.
We also took a hard look at where the market is heading. With AI accelerating plugin development, solo devs are increasingly capable of building their own native bridges. The teams who pay for Insider SDKs aren't asking for a new plugin every week — they're asking for enterprise-grade depth, stability, and support on the plugins that already exist. So that's where we're focusing.
One Platform, Three Clear SKUs¶
Capawesome Platform replaces the old Cloud and Insiders products with three pricing tracks. Pick the one that matches what you actually need.
Platform¶
Live Updates, Native Builds, App Store Publishing, Automations, and Insider SDKs in one cloud. This is the full experience and the right choice for teams and individuals who want everything we build, including access to our 22+ Insider SDKs.
Plans start at $19/month (Starter) and scale up to Business at $499/month, with custom Enterprise pricing on top.
Live Updates¶
OTA live updates only — for teams that handle their own native builds. If you already have a CI/CD pipeline you're happy with and just want to ship JavaScript updates instantly, this is the cheapest way in.
Plans start at $9/month. And yes — we're switching back to unlimited updates with MAU-based pricing. You asked, we listened.
SDKs¶
All 22+ Insider SDKs — for businesses that just need the libraries. No Cloud features, no Native Builds. Pure plugin access for teams whose infrastructure is already in place.
- Develop at $249/month — for teams shipping features and tracking the latest releases.
- Maintain at $4,999 one-time — for apps past active development. Pay once, keep the SDKs forever.
- Enterprise with custom pricing for SSO, signed NDAs/DPAs, dedicated account management, and onboarding.
Solo developers should pick a Platform plan instead — it's significantly more affordable and gives you a curated number of Insider SDKs alongside everything else.
What Changed Based on Your Feedback¶
Almost every decision in the new pricing came from a request you made. Here's the short list of wins:
Unlimited Live Updates with MAU-Based Pricing¶
Counting delivered updates was technically more granular, but it made forecasting hard. You're back to unlimited updates per month, and we count Monthly Active Users instead — the same model that worked well for years.
No More Commercial-Use Restriction on Insider SDKs¶
The old Insiders Individual plan was non-commercial only, which created confusion and friction. The new SDKs plans have no commercial-use restriction. Use the libraries in any project — open source, commercial, client work, internal tooling — without worrying about the fine print. The full new license is available at capawesome.io/legal/eula.
A 14-Day Trial on Every Plan¶
Including SDKs. Try the full plan for 14 days before you commit. This is something we couldn't offer before because of how the two products were structured. Now we can.
Yearly Billing = Two Months Free¶
Pay annually and get the equivalent of two months free on every paid plan.
A New Onboarding Flow¶
We rebuilt onboarding from scratch around the new structure. Sign up, create an organization, pick a plan, and invite your team — in that order, with no detours. The flow is designed so that the right plan for your team is obvious by the time you're choosing one, instead of something you have to figure out by clicking back and forth between pricing pages.
If you're new to Capawesome, the new flow is the fastest way to get from zero to a deployed Capacitor app build.
Where We're Focusing Next: Depth, Not Breadth¶
We've been shipping plugins at a steady clip — 22+ Insider SDKs and 50+ free open-source plugins as of today. With Capawesome Platform, our focus shifts. Instead of releasing a new plugin every week, we're going deeper on the ones our enterprise customers depend on:
- More features in the SDKs you already use.
- Better documentation, examples, and integration guides.
- Faster, more responsive support for both Cloud and SDK customers.
- AI-native, agent-friendly tooling — 40+ CLI commands with JSON output and ready-to-use Agent Skills, designed for the way modern teams actually build mobile apps.
This is what enterprise customers have been telling us they need, and it's what the market increasingly rewards.
What About Existing Customers?¶
If you're already on a Capawesome Cloud or Insiders plan, nothing changes for you today. You keep your current plan and pricing until you decide to switch to a new one. When you're ready to move to a Capawesome Platform plan — or if you have any questions about how the change affects you — contact support and we'll help you migrate.
