# Huawei AppGallery

To submit your Android app builds to Huawei AppGallery, you need to configure a Huawei AppGallery destination in the Capawesome Cloud Console. App submissions are uploaded to AppGallery Connect and, depending on the release status, submitted for review.

## Configuration

To create a Huawei AppGallery destination, navigate to the [Destinations](https://console.cloud.capawesome.io/apps/_/destinations){:target="_blank"} page in the Capawesome Cloud Console and provide the following information:

- **Name**: A descriptive name for this destination (e.g., "AppGallery Production").
- **Platform**: Must be set to `Android`.
- **Type**: Must be set to `Huawei AppGallery`.
- **App ID**: Your AppGallery Connect app ID (e.g., `112233445`).
- **Client ID**: The client ID of your AppGallery Connect API client.
- **Client secret**: The client secret of your AppGallery Connect API client.
- **Publishing format**: The app bundle format (`AAB` or `APK`).
- **Release status**: The release status (`Draft` or `Completed`).

Read on for detailed instructions on obtaining the required credentials.

## Obtaining Credentials

### App ID

The app ID is the numeric identifier of your app in AppGallery Connect. Create your app in [AppGallery Connect](https://developer.huawei.com/consumer/en/service/josp/agc/index.html){:target="_blank"} if you haven't already, then copy the app ID from the app's details.

### Client ID and Client Secret

Capawesome Cloud authenticates with the AppGallery Connect Publishing API using an API client. In AppGallery Connect, create an API client for the AppGallery Connect API with permission to publish apps, then copy its client ID and client secret.

The client secret is stored encrypted and is never shown again after you save the destination.

### Publishing Format

Both Android App Bundles (AAB) and APKs are supported. After the upload, AppGallery Connect processes every package, for example by compiling an AAB and running a security check. Capawesome Cloud waits for this processing to finish before the deployment completes, whatever the release status, so a deployment can take several minutes.

If your build contains a Wear OS, Android TV, or Automotive module, only the phone app is uploaded. See [Build for Wear OS, Android TV and Automotive](../../native-builds/form-factors.md).

### Release Status

The release status determines what happens after the upload:

- **Draft**: The build is only uploaded to AppGallery Connect. Choose this if you want to review the version and submit it for review manually in AppGallery Connect.
- **Completed**: The build is uploaded and, once AppGallery Connect has finished processing it, the version is submitted for review automatically.

## Common Issues

### Submission fails because a version is under review

AppGallery Connect doesn't accept a new submission while another version of your app is under review. Capawesome Cloud doesn't withdraw that version automatically, so the deployment fails with the error message returned by Huawei. Withdraw the version under review in AppGallery Connect, then submit the build again.
