Is it possible to sponsor on a yearly basis?

Yes. There are different options depending on the platform you use to sponsor. On GitHub, you can sponsor on a yearly basis by switching your GitHub account to a yearly billing cycle. On Polar, just select a yearly subscription when sponsoring. You can see all available yearly subscriptions by toggling the switch on the subscriptions page.
